Working in a seedy Victorian era dance hall, Lily Rafferty does her best to avoid doing anything too distasteful with the hall s unsavory customers On her third night of the job, however, she meets a man who turns her world upside down Rhys Trevan Morgan, Viscount Talfryn, has come to the dance hall to investigate the death of several young women, but he is unexpectedly intrigued with one dancer in particular When he rescues Lily from abuse by one of the club s customers, he suddenly becomes her [...]
Originally posted at longandshortreviewsspThis was a cute little story filled with light drama, an interesting twist and a heroine not afraid of what she needs to do to survive Well, okay, she was a little skittish until a hero with an icy demeanor stepped in to even the odds The by play between the secondary characters was like a tennis match and it kept the pages flipping Lily is the heroine She s not a typical heroine for the period romances I usually read She s not a governess, nor part of t [...]
I thoroughly enjoyed this book I sort of picked it up on a whim I hadn t read a really good Paranormal Romance in a really long time Then I saw vampire, and I was sold That book was going on my kindle and I was going to take a chance on a new author Was I disappointed GOD NO This book was fast paced from the moment the first sentence kicked off The story flow was perfect Once I started to read, I didn t want to stop I m sure that I could have But the author developed all the characters in this s [...]
This was a free ebook on Dance Macabre is a short story about an orphan girl turned dancer, Lily, who works in a shady club in the 19th Century.Lily is groped by one of her customers and nearly raped, only to be saved by a mysterious gentleman who later buys a night with her But why is one of the regular customers of the club so interested in her.Overall, this is a two star story, since the story lacked background information and not because it was left out on purpose for the sake of the atmosp [...]
Steamy and well written.
Reviewed by DeanaBook provided by the publisher for reviewReview originally posted at Romancing the BookSusanne Savelle has a style of writing that just drew in me in A period piece told by a historian with remarkable attention to detail showing in language and descriptions to everything from dress and setting For 80 pages, I was treated with a great back stories of the lead characters I also got my paranormal fix in this book. However, I personally did not like our lead lady Lily Rafferty Lily i [...]
I would have been happier if this short story was a teaser for a full length novel One of Susanne s strengths is being able to immediately draw the reader into a character s inner tumult, only to leave them breathless with delicious anticipation for the first kiss I am looking forward to reading
This short is supposed to be PNR historical For me it missed both marks it had no paranormal worldbuilding a part a very weird explanation during a fight and the historical facts didn t look that good.
Damn it I didn t realize that this was a short teaser until I got to the end and WHAM It was like hitting a dead end while going 90 mph That said, it was hawt and enjoyable If you ve got a spare 15 20 minutes, it makes for a good, quick thrill.
I enjoyed the story And as it was a free read Would like to hear about the viscount and his lady Would certainly buy it.
It was a good short story but could have gone indepeth I felt it was left hanging like there is to the story.
An odd story and not in a good way.
